Pehli Kiran (پہلی کرن, The First Ray) is a book of Urdu poetry by Muhammad Yunus Qasmi Makki (Mohd. Yunus Azmi), first printed in 2011. It only existed on paper and as scans.
I re-typeset every page as real Unicode Urdu text, page for page: the same page breaks, numbering and alignment as the print, with the covers and hand-lettered headings redrawn as vector art. An English translation sits under every line.
The reading site turns pages like the printed book, right to left, with a contents list, an English toggle and page sounds. It also offers two PDF editions and a plain-text version, and Python scripts rebuild everything from the transcription.
